Classes and social groups for young children and their families

The Old Rochester Regional Early Childhood Office will offer three opportunities for young children and their families to play and learn.
On April 27 the group will start a Saturday morning social group for infants, toddlers and their families.
The group will be held at the Loft School (124 Front Street, Marion) from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and will run through June 8.The social event offers the chance to meet and socialize with other families and young children, and to learn about children’s education topics. The class’ organizers request a $5 donation for supples.
A Music and Movement play group at Old Hammondtown School in Mattapoisett will offer families and children the chance to get together on Mondays from 11 a.m. to noon and bond over songs, instruments and props.
Mary Wilson will teach the six week class, which will start on May 6 and is appropriate for children ages birth to five years old.
For more scientific young mind, the Early Childhood office will offer a Little Scientists Play and Learn group. The group will also run for six weeks, and be held Mondays from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Old Hammondtown School. The class will start May 6.
Geared toward the same age group and also taught by Wilson, the group will focus on science exploration activities as a tool for making new friends.
