Author Richard Louv to speak
The Mattapoisett Library encourages everyone to join with the staff and Friends in welcoming author Richard Louv to the southcoast on Thursday, March 29 at 7 pm. His talk, “The Nature Principle and the New Nature Movement,” is based on his work on nature-deficit disorder and his books, most recently "The Nature Principle: Reconnecting with Life in a Virtual Age."
Sponsored by the new Southcoast Outdoor Network, this is an important opportunity to hear how families can enjoy the outdoors with their children in a way that enhances their learning and well-being. The lecture is free and open to the public at Tifereth Israel, located at 145 Brownell Street, adjacent to Buttonwood Park. Copies of Richard Louv's books will be available for purchase and signing, courtesy of Baker Books. Many environmental and recreational organizations will be on hand with literature about local parks and recreational opportunities.
