MARION — The Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic Development District is holding a meeting to hear public input to redesign the Holmes Woods property in Marion. 

The meeting will be held on Thursday, May 25 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Marion Music Hall, 164 Front Street. 

The Holmes Woods property was gifted to the town of Marion in 1902 and was intended to be used as a space for the people of Marion to enjoy. As of right now, it is mostly unmaintained with some trails and tree cover but has the potential to become so much more. 

SRPEDD has been working with the Marion Stewards of Community Open Space Committee to determine the community’s vision for a potential redesign of Holmes Woods, a 14.7-acre property in the town’s village district by the Marion police station.
