Demolition of the apartment building at 16 Cottage St. in Marion started Monday morning as a crew worked to tear down the structure.

Earlier this year, Christian Loranger of Marion secured permits needed to build five condominiums on the site, within the previous building's footprint.

Originally, Loranger asked permission to build more condominiums at the location, but backed down after opposition from neighbors.
