Council on Aging celebrates volunteers
Jun 7, 2013
The Rochester Council on Aging celebrated volunteers on May 31 with a three-course meal and music by local band, the Relics.
Council on Aging Director Sharon Lally said, “We are so blessed to have so many volunteers.”
State Rep. Bill Strauss was also honored.
Last year the council’s 110 volunteers performed 1,276 jobs with 17,392 hours of service, said Lally. There was an increase in the number of volunteers for fiscal year 2013 due, in part, to 34 volunteers who helped assist residents during the February blizzard, she said.
The 2013 totals have not been tallied yet.
