Covid on the rise in Marion

Nov 3, 2020

MARION — Just in case election results were tense enough, there’s been an uptick in Marion’s covid cases in the last three to four days.

“It’s fairly significant for us,” Town Administrator Jay McGrail said to Selectmen at a Nov. 3 meeting.

Currently, there are eight active cases in the town, but the spike is less than 10 cases.

Because of the rise in cases, McGrail announced that all future meetings will take place on Zoom again.

One meeting that he is concerned about is Thursday’s Special Town Meeting.

He said the town will be taking necessary precautions for the meeting, including the use of ushers to seat people six feet apart, and keeping the meeting efficient.

“If people do not feel well, please do not come,” McGrail said, with Board Vice Chair John Waterman adding that “everyone’s health is more important than anything.”
