Dinner with author Anita Shreve to benefit Wareham Library

Bestselling author Anita Shreve will visit the area later this month to benefit the Wareham Library.

Shreve is the author of 17 New York Times bestselling novels and the winner of several literary awards. She grew up in Dedham and is a graduate of Dedham High School and Tufts University.

"Dinner with Anita" will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 23 at the Kittansett Club at 11 Point Road in Marion. Tickets are $100. To personally meet the author and to sit at her table, tickets are available for $1,000 each. Reservations are required as space is limited. R.S.V.P. by April 17. Earlier that evening, Shreve will speak at the Wareham Library. The event is co-sponsored by the Friends of the Wareham Free Library, The Wareham Library Foundation and the Wareham Free Library Board of Trustees. All are welcome to a reception, interview and book signing at the library, 59 Marion Road, from 5 to 6 p.m.

Shreve will speak about her love of public libraries and will be interviewed by former NPR host and Onset resident, Naomi Arenberg. A book signing will follow, and copies of her latest novel, "Stella Bain," will be on sale. Donations will be appreciated at this fundraising event.

All proceeds will benefit the Wareham Free Library.
