Distracted driving simulator coming to ORRHS
Oct 17, 2017
A distracted-driving simulator is coming to Old Rochester Regional High School, courtesy of Roger Keith Insurance and the Arbella Foundation.
The simulator puts inexperienced drivers behind the wheel of a car and asks them to deal with distractions, such as fiddling with the radio, spilling a drink, and (of course!) texting. Experienced drivers are encouraged to take a whirl behind the wheel as well.
Drivers who have completed Distractology are, according to the website, 19 percent less likely to have a major or minor accident, and 25 percent less likely to receive a traffic violation.
The simulator will be available at the high school from Monday, October 30, to Friday, November 3.
