The Veterans Service Office for Mattapoisett and Rochester is putting together Christmas care packages for troops serving in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The project is in conjunction with Cape Cod Cares for Our Troops. Donations of items such as lotion, microwave popcorn, coffee singles, candy, current magazines, and travel games can be dropped off at the Mattapoisett Town Hall.

All donations are due by Friday, Dec. 6. For any questions, contact the Veterans Office at 508-758-4100, ext. 212.
