Doris M. Fisher, 83
Doris M. (Grassi) Fisher, 83, of Wareham, died October 18, at home. She was the widow of the late Donald H. Fisher and the daughter of the late Arego and Eva M. (Braley) Grassi.
She was born in Wareham and lived there all of her life. She graduated from Wareham High School. Mrs. Fisher worked in the office for the A.D. Makepeace many years ago.
Doris married Donald in 1953, and they had a long and blessed marriage for 57 years. They built their own home in Onset, and raised their three daughters there. They were fortunate to travel all around the world, and enjoyed their summers by the ocean. As a family, they loved camping, boating, and spending Sunday dinners with the Grassi family.
She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. She was a talented artist and enjoyed painting.
Survivors include her daughters, Doreen Parker and her husband Craig of Rochester, Donna Fisher-Jackson and her husband James Jackson of Grass Valley, CA and Denise E. Fisher of West Wareham; 2 brothers, Donald Grassi of Plymouth and Arego “Rick” Grassi of Marion; a sister, Betty Chapman of Orlando, FL; 2 grandchildren, Jennifer Duffen and her husband Shawn of Windham, NH and Jacob Fisher of West Wareham.
Her funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 22, in the Wesley United Methodist Church, 462 Main St., Wareham. Burial will follow in Agawam Cemetery.
Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
