Early June Notes from the Rochester Senior Center

ROCHESTER — The Rochester Council on Aging will host a variety of trips, demonstrations, meetings and socials in early June. 

On June 1 the Senior Center will take a trip to Watertown’s Greek Festival to enjoy Greek food, music and dancing. The bus will leave at 9 a.m. and return at 5 p.m. Admission is free, but interested participants should sign up in advance to reserve a seat on the bus. 

Linda Medieros will hold a Pampered Chef demonstration and serve lunch on June 3 at 11:30 a.m. A $5 donation is requested for this event. 

The Council on Aging Board of Directors will hold a monthly meeting on June 5 at 9 a.m.

June’s Veteran’s Social will be held June 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. The free, informal gathering will offer refreshments and the chance to talk. 

On June 8 the Council on Aging will take another trip to the Plymouth Food Truck Festival. The bus will leave the Senior Center at 11 a.m. and return around 5 p.m. Admission to the artisan food event is free, but participants should sign up in advance. 

Conversational French will take a break for the summer and resume in the fall. Rochester Senior Center dues are also due. The dues are $10 per person, tax deductible and guarantee a 10 percent discount on Friends dinners.
