Electricity aggregation program gets green light from state

Oct 14, 2015

The state Department of Public Utilities has approved an electricity aggregation program that will provide 24 communities, including Mattapoisett, with cheaper electricity.

The plan allows the towns to bid as a unit for less expensive electricity. Once a price is agreed on, each community can opt in or out. There will also be a green energy option, according to Town Administrator Mike Gagne.
