Experience virtual reality at the Marion Natural History Museum

Feb 25, 2019

On Thursday March 21 the Marion Natural History Museum will host its first open house for adults, offering wine, light refreshments, the chance to tour the museum’s collections and to use its virtual reality set.

From 5 to 8 p.m. visitors can use the virtual reality set to experience what it was like to take off for the mood in Saturn V, climb Mount Everest, or stand in front of Claude Monet’s Waterlilies while listening to the painter’s correspondence about the work. The museum also offers Virtual Reality Google Earth, which allows users to experience a tropical island, stand on a street in Paris, or visit the Grand Canyon.
