MATTAPOISETT — Reading is fun, and so too should it be fun to learn to read.

The Mattapoisett Free Public Library will hold “Family Literacy Night: How to Raise Strong Readers” on Tuesday, Sept 24 at 6 p.m.

Representatives from the SEAL Foundation will lead a night of exploring “how easy it is to practice pre-reading skills from any setting,” a news release said.

“Getting your child ready for literacy should be an enjoyable journey, not a daunting task,” the release said.

The event will cover activities and games that can be easily integrated into daily routines, whether in the car, supermarket or at home.

“Uncover the simplicity of enhancing your child's reading abilities,” the release said.

No registration is required for the program, which is funded by the Richard & Ann J. Prouty Foundation, Bank of America, N.A., Co-Trustee.
