The following Bay Adventures are in the tri-town:

Pick your own cranberries

Pick your own fresh cranberries at the Coalition's Mattapoisett River Reserve, located at 138 Acushnet Rd. There are 50 acres of wild cranberries growing in retired bogs. In addition to picking, the staff will talk about the history and ecological importance of the reserve, which has been protected forever to preserve its natural features.

The event is Saturday, Oct. 17 from 9 to 11 a.m.

Family Fridays

Three Family Friday Explorations will take place in October in Mattapoisett. Family Fridays are recommended for families with elementary school children and offer games, hands-on activities and information on the region's animals, plants and habitats. The events are from 5 to 6 p.m.

On Oct. 15 from 5 to 6 p.m., there will be an opportunity to learn to crab at Shining Tides Beach on Reservation Road. On Oct. 23, families can make their own fishing poles at the Mattapoisett River Reserve, 138 Acushnet Rd. On Oct. 30, there will be a storybook stroll at Tripps Mill.

Storybook walk

Throughout November, there will be a storybook walk at Tripps Mill in Mattapoisett. The walk is a self-guided family adventure available from dawn to dusk.
