On Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Marion Music Hall, the Sippican Historical Society will present a special lecture by Richard L. Morningstar, former U.S. ambassador to Azerbaijan, and his wife, Faith P. Morningstar. The lecture will provide an update on the issues of greatest interest in the relationship between the United States and Azerbaijan. Faith, who initiated two programs related to the empowerment of Azerbaijani women and girls, will speak about the issues on which she worked.

The former ambassador was appointed by President Obama, and sworn in by Secretary of State Clinton in 2012. He served until 2014. Prior to his appointment, he was the Secretary of State’s special envoy for eurasian energy.
