The Fourth of July fireworks held in Marion at Silvershell Beach have officially been canceled after the town was unable to raise enough money for the event.

All funds that have been raised thus far will be held to go toward the 2017 fireworks.

The Marion Fireworks Committee is still accepting donations to be put toward next year's event.
