Free 'Crazy weather and climate change' lecture on April 23

Apr 20, 2015

Rutgers University research professor Jennifer Francis will present a lecture for the community at 6:30 p.m. on April 23 at Tabor Academy, in the Stroud Academic Center. The event is open to the public.

The lecture “Crazy weather and climate change: Are they connected?” will focus on new research that links increasing extreme weather events with human-caused climate change. Dr. Francis will focus particularly on her research that links the rapidly warming and melting Arctic with changes in the jet stream that cause more persistent weather patterns that can lead to extremes such as droughts, cold spells, heat waves and floods.

Dr. Francis will spend the day in classrooms on April 23 with Tabor Academy students and faculty before sharing her work with the local community.
