The Friends of the Elderly will show the film "Papillon," at the Mattapoisett Council on Aging at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24.

The 1973 film tells the story of a man (Steve McQueen) who befriends a fellow criminal (Dustin Hoffman) as the two of them begin serving their sentence on a dreadful prison island, which inspires the man to plot his escape.

The showing is free and open to the public.  Popcorn with lemonade or root beer will be provided for snack.
