Fundraiser to benefit Rochester family who suffered July 4 fire

Aug 2, 2017

A benefit for the Rochester family whose home was damaged in a July 4 fire will take place at the Rochester Memorial School playground on Sunday, August 13, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Called “Rochester Cares,” the carnival-themed fundraiser will feature games, crafts, music, pony rides, face-painting, a bouncy house, and a petting zoo. Admission is $5 per person or $20 per family.

All proceeds will benefit the Tobin family. An electrical fire forced parents Jason and Lisa, 11-year-old Jason (“Jay”), 9-year-old Alex, and 7-year-old Nathan from their County Road home. Nobody was injured, but the house was heavily damaged by smoke, particularly in the back of the house, where the attic and the boys' bedroom were located.
