Harbor Days are almost here

Jul 5, 2022

MATTAPOISETT — Mark the calendar for July 12-17 for five days of summer fun.

That’s when one of Mattapoisett’s biggest events, Harbor Days, returns.

Hosted by the Mattapoisett Lions Club and held at Shipyard Park, the celebration includes an array of food, music and crafters.

The event serves as a major fund-raiser for the Mattapoisett Lions Club, which sponsors local scholarships and contests and supports people in need in the area, said Kimberly Ray, president and communications director for the club.

‘’Harbor Days also allows people to take a break from their usual routines, she said, and enjoy each other’s company.’It’s a great event for families and friends to reconnect, relax, grab some food,’’ Ray said.

In addition to the five days of activities, the Mattapoisett Lions Club triathlon will be held starting at 8 a.m. Sunday, July 24 at the town beach. The event includes a .25-mile swim, a 10-mile bike ride and a 3.1-mile run.

To register for the triathlon, visit https://www.mattapoisettlionsclub.org/pb/wp_26fe1af9/wp_26fe1af9.html.
