Harry DaSilva, 93
MARION – Harry DaSilva, 93, of Marion, died Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford.
Born in Marion, the son of the late Henry & Laura (Barros) DaSilva, he was a lifelong resident. Mr. DaSilva graduated from Wareham High School, and then from Youngstown College in Ohio with a bachelor's degree in business administration and a major in accounting. Mr. DaSilva was a self-employed certified accountant and immigration consultant for many years.
Mr. DaSilva was a Korean war era veteran and served overseas in Germany. At the time of his discharge, he attained the rank of 1st lieutenant.
He was an avid Red Sox fan, had a love for scratch tickets, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his sister, Shirley Downing of N. Dartmouth; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, the late Lillian Corbett, Dorothy Coleman, Henry DaSilva, Jr., Edward Silva, Elizabeth Mendes, and Richard DaSilva.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Tues., Oct. 8th at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham from 4 – 7 PM. Funeral will be from the funeral home on Wed., Oct. 9th at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church, 94 High St., Wareham at 10 AM. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Wareham.
