The Rochester Historical Society will host an Heirloom Discovery Day on Sunday, September 18 from  2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the First Congregational Church Hall at Rochester Center to benefit the Historical Society.

Frank McNamee of the Marion Antique Shop will do two verbal antique appraisals for $10. Bring that family heirloom you've been wondering about or that yard-sale item you purchased a while back. Open to the public.

Frank H. McNamee, owner of the Marion Antique Shop, has over 36 years of experience in the antiques and appraisal business. He is certified by the Uniform Standards of Appraisal Practice Program and has been a member of the New England Appraisers Association for more than 20 years, and is a candidate member of the American Society of Appraisers. McNamee has done work for many local attorneys, museums (including the Smithsonian Institution) and private individuals. He is qualified to do appraisals for estate and IRS purposes, insurance valuations and divorce settlements.
