MARION — Join the Marion Natural History Museum  community group for its “Wings of History.” program.

On Nov. 29, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. help craft a butterfly mobile for the museum. The group will be drawing inspiration from the detailed illustrations of German entomologist and naturalist Maria Sibylla Merian.

In this workshop, participants will combine historical accuracy with modern design to produce a display that will hang above the museum’s antique butterfly case.

“Together, we will recreate life-sized butterflies, capturing the essence of their natural movement,” wrote the museum in a press release. “Be part of this collaborative effort where art, history, and science converge.”
