Help document how Marion handled covid

Mar 16, 2021

MARION — It has been more than a year since covid shutdowns began, and the Sippican Historical Society is attempting to document how it affected the lives of Marion residents.

The historical society has assembled a collection of photos, journals, essays and other items residents have shared over the last year, and is looking to continue adding to its collection.

The society is soliciting residents’ "silver lining" experiences like the unexpected benefits of covid.

The Sippican Historical Society is in search of thoughts, journals, photos, handiwork, or any artifacts that illustrate some of the ways that the pandemic has positively affected Marion residents.

Additionally, the historical society is asking residents to send photos of themselves in “meaningful” masks, both hand-crafted and purchased.

The historical society’s archives will safeguard and preserve the submitted stories and memories for future generations of writers, researchers, scholars and anyone who asks, "What was life like in Marion, Massachusetts during the 2020/21 pandemic?"

Contact info@sippicanhistoricalsociety.org to send over “silver lining” experiences.
