May 14, 2021

ROCHESTER — Town Meeting is on May 24, and seven capital plan spending items are on the agenda.

The Annual Town Meeting, open to all registered Rochester voters, will start at 7 p.m. at Rochester Memorial School.

Voters will decide whether to spend a total of $201,190 on various capital plan items: a 10-wheel and six-weel dump truck, poured flooring for the highway barn, updated technology and a new alarm system at Rochester Memorial School, irrigation for the Rochester Memorial playing field, and air conditioning and electrical improvements at the Council on Aging.

Voters will be asked to approve a $22.9 million overall operating budget, an increase of $350,000 over the Fiscal Year 2021.

Additionally, voters will consider raising the income and asset limits for exemptions granted to senior citizens in town.
