Holiday in the Park Dec. 14
The Mattapoisett Selectmen invite all town residents to attend the 8th annual Holiday in the Park. The event is under the big tent at Shipyard Park on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
All food is free due to the generosity of local food establishments.
Santa, Mrs. Claus and friends will arrive by fire engine at dusk!
There will also be ornament making and face painting for the children.
There will also be events earlier in the day. Stop by the Mattapoisett Library for stories and candy house making from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The Mattapoisett Historical Society will hold a drop in craft and toy train exhibit from 9 a.m. to noon.
Boy Scout Troop 53 will sell wreaths with free hot chocolate and coffee at Town Hall from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Old Hammondtown Concert Band and Chorus will perform.
The Mattapoisett Lion’s Club is also asking everyone to bring an unwrapped gift and a canned good to the table under the tent.
The tree lighting will take place at dusk.
