Hundreds get a Taste of the Town

Jul 14, 2015

The community turned out in large number on Tuesday night for the Mattapoisett Woman’s Club’s Taste of the Town.

“I think this is the biggest year yet,” said event co-chair Lois Ennis.

Restaurants from around the area brought a sampling of their cuisine to the tent at Shipyard Park that guests could purchase with tickets bought at the entrance.

Proceeds from the event go to the club’s scholarship fund for students.

“We’re very grateful for the wonderful turnout and the support the Mattapoisett Woman’s Club receives,” said Eileen Marum, who also co-chaired the event.

She expressed her thanks to the restaurants that participated in the event and the other members of the club who made the evening possible.

In addition to the local eateries, the Showstoppers provided musical entertainment for the crowd gathered at the park.
