Information session on Medicare and medication for seniors
Regional representatives from S.H.I.N.E. (Serving Health Information Needs of Elders) will be at the Mattapoisett Council on Aging Monday, Nov. 3 from 3 to 5 p.m. to speak with senior citizens about their healthcare insurance.
Medicare and medication plans may have changed and S.H.I.N.E. representatives will help people sort out what plan is best to keep cots down.
The Medicare Open Enrollment Period is Oct.15 to Dec. 7 and changes will take effect on Jan. 1.
On Nov. 3 there will be a comprehensive insurance presentation with representatives from Blue Cross Blue Shield as well as SHINE. Residents aged 65 and up are encouraged to attend.
Call the Mattapoisett Council on Aging at 508-758-4110 to reserve a spot.
Those who cannot make this session, may also contact the COA and ask for a trained S.H.I.N.E. Counselor who will contact you.
