Kick off the New Year with Sippican Lands Trust

Dec 25, 2018

MARION — After the holiday festivities largely come to an end, the Sippican Lands Trust will be hosting its first nature walk of 2019 on Jan. 1.

Beginning at noon, the walk will set off from Sippican Lands Trust’s White Eagle property in Aucoot Woods.

The Sippican Lands Trust will celebrate its 45 th Anniversary in 2019 and this walk will be one of many walks and special programs throughout the year.

Alan Harris, the Sippican Lands Trust’s Board President, will lead the New Year’s Day Walk again in 2019.

The property is located off of Route 6 in Marion. To arrive at the kiosk, turn onto Parlowtown Road and follow it until a cul-de-sac. There will be a dirt road on the left, and drivers should follow it until they reach an abandoned cranberry bog. Parking will be directly past the bog.

The walk is free and their will be no registration costs.

If more than two inches of snow are on the ground, then the walk will be canceled. If the walk is canceled due to inclement weather or more than two inches of snow on the ground, then information will be posted to the Sippican Lands Trust website and Facebook page.
