The Marion Natural History Museum got a recent visit from Mark Whelan, engineer with Sippican/Lockheed Martin Corporation. Whelan taught experiments on compression, stability and buoyancy by helping kids build their own submarines and then devising a way to make them slowly sink. They then raced their submarines.
