Lady Bulldogs battle back for a win

Feb 10, 2014

With a 44-37 win on Feb. 8, the Old Rochester Regional High School Lady Bulldogs improved to 5-14 on the season.

ORR was behind Dighton-Rehoboth High School at the end of every quarter except for the one that counted most. Lead swings of up to 8 points made the game seem like a tug-of-war match. ORR found its offensive stride after Dighton-Rehoboth went on a 12-0 run, led by Kylie D’Ambrosio.

At halftime the Lady Bulldogs were down 6 points. But, at the start of the third quarter, ORR came out with a new game plan. “I thought that was the key, full court man to man,” said coach Bob Hohne. The score bears that out as Dighton-Rehoboth had 12 points in the first quarter, 14 in the second, and only 8 in the third. Thanks to the offense, new defense and communication, the Lady Bulldogs held the Falcons to 3 points in the fourth quarter. ORR’s leading scorers were Sophia Church with 14 points and Michaela Bouvette with 10.
