Lady Bulldogs will end regular season on the road

Feb 3, 2015

The Old Rochester Regional High School girls basketball team has a tough stretch ahead as the Lady Bulldogs will play five of its final six regular season games on the road.

In the past two weeks, the Bulldogs earned one win over a three game stretch.

The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Apponequet on Jan. 20. At the home of the Lady Lakers, ORR fell 38-54. On Friday, Jan. 23, the Lady Bulldogs went to Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School. While ORR lost 34-66, the team still played well. The Lady Bulldogs’ tops scorers were: Sophie Church (11 points,) Morgan Browning (10 points,) and Ashley Pacheco (7 points).

On Friday, Jan. 27 the Lady Bulldogs faced off against Fairhaven High School. In their penultimate home game of the season, ORR won 40-18. This was an improvement from ORR’s narrow loss to Fairhaven in an away contest a few weeks ago. Coach Bob Hohne commented on his team’s progress saying, “When you run your offense, the points come easily!”

The Lady Bulldogs have six games left to go in the season and look to improve on its 8-6 record. Five of these six games will be on the road except for Tuesday, Feb. 10. That night will be ORR’s Senior Night to salute the team’s three seniors, Morgan Browning, Kaleigh Goulart, and Ashley Pacheco.
