Old Rochester Regional High School senior Lauren Scott of Marion was chosen at the Elks Student of the Month for December, sponsored by the Wareham Lodge No. 1548.

Students chosen for the award must excel in scholarship, citizenship, performing arts, fine arts, hobbies, athletics, church, school and community service, industry and farming.

Scott was selected by faculty and staff at ORR. She volunteers her time to mentor and tutor students in one of ORR's learning centers and also in the Southeastern Massachusetts Educational Collaborative classroom.

School leadership also note that Scott is a sincere friend to many, displays grace under pressure and is a strong student.
