The Marion Natural History Museum will offer an educational program about the birds of Bird Island open to children ages five and up on Wednesday, July 10 with help from harbormaster Isaac Perry, and coastal waterbird biologist Carolyn Mostello.
The program will start at 1 p.m. at the museum with a slideshow presentation on the biology of coastal birds in the area, as well as restoration efforts to improve nesting habitats. Participants will then walk to the harbormaster’s office at 3 p.m. for a tour of Bird Island. Participants should bring a properly fitting life jacket and hat.
Suggested donations for the program are $12 each for museum members and $15 each for non-members. Registration forms are available at www.marionmuseum.org.
