MARION — Can you tell a bivalve from a mollusk? The Marion Natural History Museum will be taking a look at the upwellers on Island Wharf, learning about oysters and other shellfish with Marion’s Shellfish Warden, and hearing about the important role they play in the bay.

The event, for grades two through six, will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Aug. 18. 

The group will will also take a tour of some of the local aquaculture farms and visit Meadow Island with the Marion Harbormaster.

Participants can also create fish print t-shirts and are asked to bring a clean cotton t-shirt or cloth the day of the program.
