MARION — New technology is now available at the Cushing Community Center, located at 465 Mill Street, for anyone experiencing hearing loss, the Friends of Marion Council on Aging announced.

This new ADA-compliant technology has been installed after identifying the need to support people with hearing disabilities at the Council on Aging. The technology includes a new PA System and FM hearing aid technology to allow personalized support to listeners.

Devices used by people with advanced T-coil hearing aids will also be compatible with the new system. People without T-coils will have the alternative of easy-to-use earphone aids and won’t need a hearing aid to use it.

By partnering with the Town of Marion to provide this technology for public use, both seniors and all residents of Marion will benefit. Friends of Marion Council on Aging has worked closely with the town in the past, leading other organizations and individuals to finance and install capital improvement plans at the center, including an outdoor pavilion, walking path and landscaping.
