Library patron Marion Aymie recently donated The Great Courses DVD and book sets to the Mattapoisett Free Public Library for others to enjoy.

Her donations include DVDs about mastering mental mathematics, biology and evolution. They are part of a lifelong learning series that encompasses typical college subjects and also includes personal enrichment topics like music and art appreciation.

Aymie hopes her donation will inspire others to pass along DVDs and other materials they may no longer need so that the library can add them to its collection.

"Especially around the holidays patrons receive gifts of DVDs, and so they are often ready to pass along the ones they no longer view," said Library Director Susan Pizzolato. "It's very helpful to add adult and children's materials that we can't always manage to purchase."

Anyone making a gift to the library may request a letter of acknowledgement of the gift for income tax purposes. Donations may be left at the circulation desk.
