Lions Club to host electronics, appliance recycling day

The Mattapoisett Lions Club is sponsoring an electronics and household appliance recycling day on Saturday, May 14. The event will be held next to the Bowl-Mor Bowling Alley, 22 County Road (Route 6) between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Bring unwanted electronics to the event and for a nominal fee have them recycled. Pick-ups will be considered for seniors and disabled citizens.

The cost is $5 per item or $35 per carload for electronics such as laptops, mobile devices, computers, CPU boxes, computer parts/accessories, keyboards, mice, cell phones, landline phones, speakers, video games/systems, camera/video/audio equipment, VCR’s, fax and copy machines, printers, amplifiers, pre-amps, set top boxes, scanners, shredders, wires, plugs, drives, cards and servers.

Recycle wood console, plastic and projection TVs in all sizes for $25 and monitors for $15.

For large household appliances and metal items the fee is $10 and $5 for small or $35 per car load. These items include refrigerators, freezers, water heaters, stoves, ranges, dishwashers, washing machines and dryers, microwave ovens, toaster ovens, toasters, coffee makers, irons, hair dryers, electric can openers, blenders, mixers, power tools, metal items less than eight-feet long, metal poles, metal desks, barbecue grills (no propane tanks), pots and pans.

All donations will benefit Lions Club charities and are tax deductible as may be allowed by law.
