After a successful movie night during Harbor Days, the Mattapoisett Lions Club is announcing its first movie night at Shipyard Park.

Selectmen gave the club approval to host the movie nights on Fridays, and Lions Club President Don Bamberger hopes the family friendly events will become regular occurrences at the park.

For the first movie on Friday, Aug. 30, the Lions Club will show “Back to the Future” on a 12-foot screen in Shipyard Park beginning at 7:30 p.m.

If all goes well, there will also be movie nights on Sept. 13 and 27, said Bamberger.
