Lions seek support for October 1 'Walk for Sight'
The Mattapoisett Lions Club invites other agencies in the community to join with them in participating in the Lions District 33S "Journey for Sight" Walkathon at Scusset Beach on October 1.
“This community service project is an opportunity for other community service groups to raise funds for themselves while helping the LIONS on their journey to eradicate preventable blindness by raising funds for Massachusetts Eye Research Fund, Inc," said King Lion Joe Murray, President of the Lions.
While 100% of pledges raised by the Lions will be donated to Massachusetts Eye Research Fund, Inc., non-Lion organizations may request that 50% of the funds from pledges they obtained be rebated to their organization.
It’s a way of showing what our club is about and what Lions are doing, locally, regionally and internationally to make the world a better place.
The Mattapoisett Lions Club meets on the second and fourth Wednesday each month at 7 p.m. at the Mattapoisett Chowder House.
Lions clubs are a group of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs. For more information or to get involved with the Mattapoisett Lions Club, please contact KL Joe at lion41753@cs.com or visit our website www.mattapoisettlionsclub.org.
