MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Free Public Library will host a local author spotlight event with recently published novelist Kathleen Hickey on Tuesday, July 27 at 6:30 p.m.

Hickey, a Mattapoisett resident and active community volunteer, wrote the novel in her free time during the pandemic after being inspired by her trips to Cuttyhunk Island with her husband.

Hickey will speak about her book, Penikese Island Adventure, and discuss her inspiration for the story and the process of getting it published.
