Last week, Marion resident Alexei Sudofsky was one of several South Coast kids to represent the Massachusetts Soccer Academy clubs called, “Massachusetts Premier Soccer,” in a National Tournament held in Pennsylvania.

The Premier Team Program for ages 13 to 19 and the Elite Team Program for ages 10 to 12 is designed for serious and talented soccer players, focusing on the technical, tactical, physical and psychological development of individual players.

After having 10 regional championship tournaments from March to June of 2012, Regional Championship Winners advance to the Nationals.  The team was the northeast champions after beating the under 12 teams in New Hampshire State Champions in June.

The boys participated in the National Soccer Championship Tournament, called the Junior Masters Tournament, which was held from June 23 to 25 in Wallingford, Pennsylvania.

The event, sponsored by Volkswagen, is a world-wide youth soccer competition for boys age 12 and younger. The tournament has established itself, into a “mini world cup tournament” for only 12-year-old boys who participate at a higher level of soccer.

On Tuesday, July 24, Massachusetts Premier Soccer played against Texas and New Jersey. The team advanced on Wednesday into the semi-finals championship game in their selected bracket against Colorado, in which they were defeated.

On Wednesday evening, the boys ended their three-day national exposure at the 2012 All-Star game in Philadelphia.  Americas best played against the European Champions Chelsea.
