Lots to love at Plumb Library in February

Jan 30, 2023

ROCHESTER — Come celebrate “Take Your Child to the Library Day” by visiting Plumb Library on Saturday, Feb. 4. The library will showcase some of its  free resources for kids and families including a telescope and snow shoes that can be checked out with a library card.

The library will have a special library-themed Scrambled Word just for the day and we invite you to explore the space through a  scavenger hunt.

The new writers group will hold its first meeting on Thursday, Feb. 16 at the library at 6:30 p.m. The group plans to meet every third Thursday (except in November and December). The meeting will start with a writing prompt, followed by 10 minutes of writing and then group discussion. To join the group via Zoom, contact info@plumblibrary.com.

”Books and Babble,” the Plumb Library book group, will meet on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the library to discuss "Natalie Tan's Book of Luck and Fortune", by Roselle Lim. Copies are available for checkout at the front desk. Light refreshments will be served.

Starting Feb. 1, stop in to pick up a tissue paper flower take and make kit while supplies last. One per child.

Starting Jan. 31 and ending Feb. 25, a February themed scrambled word will be available to unscramble each week. A picture clue is available for pre-readers. Ask for the scrambled word at the front desk. Quietly, share your answer with a librarian to earn a small prize.

Throughout the month of February, search the library for the hearts on a stick, and count them. Quietly tell a librarian your count. If your answer is correct, earn a prize from the Treasure Chest. The hearts will be in the same place throughout the month.

The library will be closed on Monday, Feb. 20 for President's Day.
