Luncheon, lectures and more at the Rochester Senior Center

ROCHESTER — On Monday, March 9  at noon, Hanna Milhench and friends will prepare a special luncheon at the Senior Center. Entry is a $5 donation and advanced registration can be made ahead of time at the Senior Center.

The Senior Center will host a festive St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon on Monday, March 16 at noon. Lorraine Thompson and her team will prepare a traditional corned beef and cabbage meal and a special dessert. There will be Irish music, a 50/50 raffle and awards for the best Irish attire. The cost is $10, and advanced reservations are necessary.

On Friday, March 13 at 1:30 p.m., Library Director Gail Roberts and Senior Center Director Cheryl Randall-Mach will present information about the upcoming Federal Census. They will discuss the importance of counting every U.S. citizen in order to properly fund things like first responders, Medicare Part B, housing, libraries and community centers. A soup and sandwich lunch will be served at noon (for a $5 donation). Come for one or the other, or both.

The Rochester Senior Book Club will meet on Tuesday, March 17 at 10:15 a.m. to discuss “The Lager Queen of Minnesota” by J. Ryan Stradel. The book club meets every month at the Senior Center. Next month’s book is “Educated” by Tara Westover.  

On Thursday, March 19, the Rochester Senior Center has a day trip planned to the Boston Flower Show.  The van will leave the Senior Center at 8:30 a.m. Call the Senior Center for more details and to make a reservation for the trip.
