Madeline S. "Nanee" (Silva) Tinkham
Madeline S. "Nanee" (Silva) Tinkham of Fairhaven died February 19, at Tobey Hospital peacefully after a wonderful life.
She was the wife of the late Howard G. Tinkham.
Born in New Bedford on May 14, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Antonio G. and Emma G. (Vieira) Silva, she lived in New Bedford before moving to Fairhaven.
She was formerly employed by Morse Twist Drill and later at S.S. Kresge's as personnel manager until her retirement.
Mrs. Tinkham was a graduate of New Bedford High School.
She loved to read, but her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Oliveira and her husband, Leonard, of Rochester; three grandchildren: Michael H. Oliveira and his wife, Deborah, of Fairhaven; Kerrie Oswald and her husband ,Michael, of Dartmouth; and Ashley Hutton and her husband, Jeremy, of Wrentham; and four great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Albert, Wilfred, Fred, Carl and Helen Silva.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett.
