On Tuesday, Selectmen awarded CLE Engineering the contract to oversee the design and engineering services for a bike path in Marion. CLE was one of two companies up for the project with a maximum budget of $340,000.

Selectman Jon Henry said he was happy to see a Marion-based business acquire the project.

The path will eventually connect with the South Coast Bikeway, and the contract was approved on the notion that planning would be completed for the project by next July. Completion of the project is expected by 2019, pending state approvals.
