Feb 13, 2015

The Marion to Bermuda Race has been deemed a signature event by the Bermuda Tourism Authority.

Since the first race in 1977, the Marion to Bermuda Race has brought hundreds of boats and their support crews to the island in alternating Junes to partake in not only sailing events but culinary, cultural and tourism events as well.

"The Bermuda Tourism Authority recognizes the longstanding successful relationships built with the island's tourism sector and the Marion to Bermuda Race," said Chief Product and Experiences Development Officer Pat Phillip-Fairn of the tourism authority. "The race has brought so much to Bermuda, and we are eager to increase the benefits to the island even further."

The Bermuda Tourism Authority has committed to assisting in promoting the race through digital channels as well as assisting in the organization and execution of the race and race events.

Marion to Bermuda's Director of Marketing Ray Cullum said the accolade brings with it special discounts and perks for competitors and their guests.

The 2015 Marion to Bermuda Race starts on June 19 in Marion. Registration is now open for all cruising boats with a length overall of 32 feet or more. More information on the race is located at www.marionbermuda.com.
