Marion candidate says signs taken from Point Road
Marion Selectman candidate Dale Jones is finding it difficult to get the word out about his election bid. According to Jones, 10 of his campaign signs were removed from Point Road on Thursday night hours after placement.
“That’s kind of a low thing to do,” Jones said.
Jones has notified police. He said a resident witnessed someone taking the signs and putting them inside a late model Subaru before driving away.
“It’s not so much about what the signs cost,” he said. “I spent a lot of time getting permission from people.”
Jones said Point Road residents had agreed to display the signs. Several other signs for Jones could still be seen along Route 6 and other streets Friday afternoon.
Jones is challenging incumbent Jody Dickerson for one seat on the board. Marion’s election is set for May 15.
