Marion Concert Band welcomes kids to ‘Young People's Concert’

The Marion Concert Band will hold its “Young People's Concert” on Friday, July 15 at 7 p.m.

The program will storyteller Paul D’Angelo and the opportunity for children in the audience to guest conduct the band. The music includes “Children's March” by E.F. Goldman, “Looney Tunes Overture” by B. Holcombe and “Jack & the Beanstalk”  by C. Coons as well as music from Disney, “The Wizard of Oz” and “Shrek.”

Paul D'Angelo has extensive experience in music, theater and education. He holds degrees from the University of Miami, New England Conservatory and Bridgewater State College. D’Angelo has also written arrangements for the Cape Cod Conservatory Jazz Ensemble.

The concert, under the direction of Tobias Monte, will begin at 7 at the Robert Broomhead Bandstand, Island Wharf off Front Street in Marion. All concerts are free and open to the public.
